IU on the road against Big Ten NCAA Tournament teams, 1995-2007.

The most frustrating part of following IU for the last 13 years has been the Hoosiers' inability to win road games against anyone with a pulse. Here's how IU has done against Big Ten NCAA Tournament teams since 1995 (the year after Knight's last Sweet 16 appearance):

Thoughts:

• IU's total record on the road against Big Ten NCAA Tournament qualifiers is 3-46.
• 21 losses by double digits.
• Knight 1-22; Davis 2-20; Sampson 0-4.
• To some degree, this is self-fulfilling. IU hasn't been very good during that time frame, and road games against good teams are the toughest to win. Also, teams that lose at home to 20-10 type teams (IU's typical output from 1995 to present) are the sort of teams that miss the NCAA Tournament. For instance, IU's epic 20 point comeback at Michigan in 1997 probably cost the Wolverines a Tournament bid.
• Obviously, I need to take look at IU's results from 1985 (the first year of the 64-team Tournament) through 1994, but I'm too busy today.

The point, of course, is that a win at OSU, a likely NCAA team, would be one of IU's best wins in years, unfortunately.
