For all the handwringing, if Eric Gordon were shooting just a tad better, and still not on his season average, IU would be 5-2 since Sampson's departure instead of 3-3. My irresponsible speculation is that Gordon aggravated his wrist. The terrible shooting trend actually began in the Purdue game, Sampson's last. He's missing wide open shots that he had been able to make for years.John Mhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00904933804078748933noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5783919656736552601.post-57322118644134899032008-03-19T18:09:00.000+03:302008-03-19T18:09:00.000+03:30Nice post JM. After the last 3/4 games, however, the same can't be said with full confidence of Eric Gordon as his shot, passing and defense have suffered since Sampson's abrupt departure. As he's been much of the season, Bassett could be the x-factor. For the sake of the conference, I really hope IU sucks it up, rallies around Dakich, puts aside the hurt feelings, and plays to its potential as a team. Go Big Ten!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
